Katsu, 1st Album "MOON"

The first step to dreams. Releasing the 1st album of Katsuaki Takizawa, pianist, who spins nature into sound.

Hi there.
My name is Katsu, a composer and a pianist, based in New York City.

I decided to make my debut album to achieve one of my goals, which is being a musician who performs world widely.

I started to play the piano at the age of 19 and left Japan 2 years later. I’ve been here NY for about 4 years. Numbers of people and numbers of music affected my life.

Most of the pianists start playing in childhood. Hence, it might be too late to start playing from 19. However, New York welcomed me and my tunes.

In December 2016, I had a chance to debut at Steinway Hall. Such beautiful sound of the Steinway Piano captivated me.

Now I have been having solo concerts in New York area and been performing with other musicians or dancers occasionally. Also, in this June, I got another opportunity to play at Steinway Hall (The video above is from then).

I have many dreams. But particularly,
1. I will have a solo concert at Isaac Stern Hall in Carnegie Hall with full audiences.
2. I will have concerts in over 190 countries.

Because I am a self-taught pianist and composer, I am sure that I have my mission.

Releasing this Album is the first step toward above dreams. I will be recording at a studio in Queens, NY with Steinway D piano.

I am very excited to write this message. I can’t wait to see the CD with your support!!
